How do we define: stockholder?
Stockholder is the owner of one or more shares of corporate stock. A preferred stockholder has first claim to: proportionate voting rights, dividends when issued, a proportionate share of the company's undivided assets, and, often, first opportunity to buy new stock issues before public offerings. Common stockholders have claims subordinate to preferred stockholders.
Every new business owner must learn about incorporating their company. Learning how to incorporate your company is critical to starting up and protecting your future.
