Assumed Name is a term used to indicate another name under which a corporation conducts business that is not the legal name of the corporation as shown in its articles of incorporation. Assumed name is also known as fictitious name and Doing Business As (DBA). Assumed names are typically filed at the county level with the county recorders office. A corporation can use multiple assumed names.
